Intake Coordinator (Part-Time)

We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented professional to join our team. The Intake Coordinator is often the first point of contact for potential clients and referral sources seeking mental health counseling services. This role is essential in connecting individuals with appropriate mental health support and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for clients. The ideal candidate will have a background in providing behavioral health services, with experience in client intake and knowledge of available mental health resources.

Key Responsibilities:
– Field incoming calls and inquiries from potential clients, referral sources, and community partners.
– Conduct initial intake screening to gather information about client’s needs and match them with appropriate services.
– Assess the urgency of client’s needs and refer them to the appropriate internal or external resources.
– Coordinate appointment scheduling, ensure proper documentation, and verify insurance or payment details when applicable.
– Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record (EHR) system, following confidentiality and compliance guidelines.
– Provide basic information to clients and referral sources about services, fees, and organizational policies.
– Follow up with clients to confirm appointments and offer additional support as needed.
– Collaborate with counselors and administrative staff to ensure seamless client onboarding.
– Gather and report key data points to ensure quality care and aid process improvements
– Participate in team meetings to discuss client needs, support process improvements, and address any intake-related challenges.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a counseling or mental health setting; OR
– Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic approach to client interactions.
– Familiarity with broad mental health terminology, processes and services.
– Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn new platforms.
– Ability to handle Protected Healthcare Information with the highest levels of confidentiality, sensitivity and discretion.
– Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a high level of accuracy in record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications:
– LMSW or LPC preferred.
– Knowledge of local mental health resources in Memphis and surrounding areas.
– Previous experience in a client intake or case management role.
– Bilingual skill preferred.

Licensed Clinical Lead Therapist

Samaritan Counseling Centers of the Mid-South (non-profit organization) is seeking a Licensed Clinical Lead Therapist. For 43 years, Samaritan has been committed to providing professional counseling services and educational programs to all, including individuals with limited financial resources.

Highlights:

  • Required masters or doctorate degree in counseling, psychology, social work, marital and family therapy, or equivalent, with an active and unrestricted professional Tennessee licensure in this field.
  • Designated at either the Health Service Provider or Mental Health Service Provider level.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a licensed clinical therapist and experience leading a team of other professional counselors.
  • Competitive compensation for a full-time Lead Therapist in the annual range of $82-85K which includes a monthly stipend and estimated client fees/insurance reimbursements.
