Why Support Samaritan
The need in our community is great- approximately 20 percent of the adult population suffers from some form of mental impairment.

- The suicide rate among young adults ages 15 to 24 has tripled in the past 30 years
- One out of every two marriages in the United States, ends in divorce.
The Samaritan Counseling Center has provided more than 40,000 hours of psychological services to more than 7,000 clients. We have been helping people through difficulties like: grief, depression, anxiety, loneliness, marital conflicts, recovery from abuse, dealing with difficult circumstances and parenting issues without regard for their ability to pay.Many of our services are reimbursable using health insurance. If however, health insurance is not available, or coverage is limited, an adjusted fee can be arranged with clients using monies from our various program or general funds. These funds, help subsidize the fees of individuals and families based on household income is made possible through the generous donations of community members, churches, businesses, and foundations. More than one and a half million dollars’ worth of charitable services to the community have been provided by the Center in its 30 years of service.

Donations from individuals, corporations and foundations are critical to support the work and mission of the Samaritan Counseling Centers of the Mid South. In Kind Donations
If you prefer to make an in-kind donation we welcome any gift no matter the size. Donations of goods and/or services are a great way to make a difference. We have developed a ”wish list ” of items that will allow us to continue our mission of service to the community.
Memorials or honorariums are a special way to honor the memory of a loved one or friend. When a memorial gift is received, we will promptly send a personalized tribute card to the person or family indicated, notifying them of your thoughtful donation, not revealing the amount of the donation.
Many companies offer matching gift programs that compound employee charitable contributions. If your company will match your gift to Samaritan Counseling follow your organization’s matching gift process. This generally requires filling out a simple one-page matching gift form.
You can make a pledge to the Silent Samaritan Couseling Centers of the Mid South. Choose the method of payment that is easiest for you – monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually or over the course of several years. Tax Exemption Status
The Samaritan Counseling Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that seeks to serve everyone in the Greater Mid-South area regardless of their financial resources. While health insurance may help with costs, 50% of our clients are either uninsured or must pay a reduced fee to pay for services.
